Pashinyan: economic ties with Lebanon need to be brought into line  with political

According to Pashinyan, the Armenian people recall with  gratitude the cordial attitude of the Lebanese people towards the  Armenians who survived the Genocide. "Lebanon is the only state in  the region that officially recognized the Armenian Genocide, and this  is important not only from the point of view of preserving historical  memory, but also preventing new genocides," the Armenian prime  minister said.

Michel Aoun, in turn, welcomed the official visit and. premiere of  Armenia. According to him, this will serve to strengthen bilateral  ties. He congratulated Pashinyan on the quality organization and the  holding of the 17th summit of the International Organization of  Francophone in Yerevan. Michel Aun praised the role of the Armenian  diaspora in the political, economic, cultural and educational life of  the country.

The parties touched upon the prospects for expanding trade and  economic ties. As Pashinyan stressed, it is necessary to bring  economic ties in line with political ones. IO. Within the framework of the visit,  Nikol Pashinyan will hold meetings with the top leadership of Lebanon  - President Michel Aoun, Prime Minister SaadHarriri, Speaker of the  Parliament Nabih Berri.  Meetings with representatives of the  Armenian diaspora, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I,  as well as visits to the spiritual, educational and cultural Armenian  centers of Beirut are also scheduled .
