"Civil Contract" Party is actively preparing for early elections -  some leave the party, others enter it

ArmInfo. The Civil Contract Party is actively preparing for the forthcoming parliamentary elections in December.

It is noteworthy that these days from the party there is a leakage of  personnel, and the influx of new members.

Thus, Assistant to Acting Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran  Avinyan, Mikayel Nahapetyan left the party yesterday, who on his  Facebook page explained this step with "extreme disappointment" with  the course of the party, which simply does not fulfill the key  promises made to people. "The Civil Contract promised to organize  elections with a new Electoral Code, to reform the Constitution,  meanwhile, all processes are happening in the old way, this is a very  key moment that I cannot accept, therefore I leave the party,"  Nahapetyan said.

Together with Nahapetyan, according to ArmInfo's information, a group  of young people left the party, also those who disagree with the  course being held by the party. Prior to elections, they intend to  set up a new party of the liberal-democratic sense, which will be  headed by Nahapetyan himself.

However, prior to the elections, as it was predicted, the flow of  those wishing to join the Civil Contract has also increased.  Recently, MP Hayk Konjoryan joined the party, who had left the  "Enlightened Armenia" party headed by his godfather Edmon Marukyan.  Yesterday, the head of the Control Service, David Sanasaryan  announced on his joining the Civil Contract party, who left the  Heritage Party for this purpose.

According to widespread rumors, former Republicans Shirak Torosyan  and Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan will be running  for elections within the Civil Contract Party. The latter was offered  to nominate his candidacy through ranking system in the Shirak  region. MP Alen Simonyan from the Center district , acting First  Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan from the Malatia-Sebastia district;  Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan from the  Ajapnyak district will also compete based on rating system.  Acting  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has already announced that he will not  run on a rating system.
