$ 11 million 109 thousand raised at the Telethon of Hayastan Fund  under "Create Together" slogan

ArmInfo. During the annual telethon organized by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, held under the slogan "Create Together," which started in Los Angeles on November  22, $ 11 million 109 thousand 633 were raised.

The funds raised during the telethon will be directed to the  implementation of two programs in Artsakh, which were started last  year, such as drilling of deep wells and creating a drip irrigation  system, as well as the implementation of alternative energy programs  in Artsakh. As a result of these programs in the regions of Martuni  and Askeran, about 200 hectares of land will become irrigated.

To note, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian donated 5. 753.496 drams  to the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan donated 1 million drams from the Prime Minister's fund, and  500.000 drams from his own funds. The biggest donation this year was  $ 2 million 300 thousand.  These funds came from an anonymous donor  from the United States. To recall, last year during the telethon held  under the slogan "Fertile Artsakh" $ 12,505,456 was raised. And the  largest amount was collected in 2008, it was $ 31 million. The  telethon is held annually in Los Angeles. Over the 25 years of the  foundation's activities, over 50,000 programs were implemented in  Armenia and Artsakh with a total value of over $ 350 million. Over  605 km of roads, 580 km of water pipelines, 149 km of gas pipelines,  70 km of electric lines, 359 schools and kindergardens were built and  repaired, 24 community centers, 500 houses and apartments, 75 medical  institutions, 58 cultural and sports centers, 100 greenhouses, and  also 169 educational, cultural and scientific projects were  implemented.

Hayastan All-Armenian Fund was founded in 1992. Its main task is the  implementation of national projects. The Board of Trustees of the  Foundation, headed by the President of Armenia, includes  authoritative representatives of the Armenian Diaspora from around  the world. The funds of the Foundation are formed at the expense of  annual charity telethons, telephone and radio marathons, bicycle  marathons held in different countries, as well as funds obtained at  charity dinners, concerts and exhibitions. Funds are collected also  by postal and SMS transfers, as well as at the expense of wills left  in the name of the Fund and targeted investments. Since 1996, the  telethon has been held annually in Los Angeles, broadcasting to the  whole world. At this event, the amount collected over the course of  the year in Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora is summarized into one  general account, and a report is made to the donors. This action  unites all Armenians around solving urgent problems. The funds  collected at the telethon are directed to the implementation of  large-scale programs of strategic importance and approved by the  annual meeting of the Board of Trustees.
