Recently, the NGO "Javakhk Diaspora of Russia", together with many  other Moscow NGOs, appealed to the Moscow City Duma to consider and  allow the monument to Charles Aznavour to be installed in Moscow.  "Why we?  The fact is that Charles Aznavour's father comes from our  region, and more precisely from the city of Akhaltsikhe  (Samtskhe-Javakheti region, Georgia)," said Arabian. Further, as the head of a  public organization said, the leadership of the "Tverskoy" municipal  district brought the issue up for discussion on Facebook. Already on  December 18, the Moscow City Duma Commission should decide on the  issue. But, according to Arabian, in all likelihood the establishment  of the monument will be denied to them. "As they explained to us,  questions of this kind are brought up for discussion by the residents  of the respective district, and then, based on these surveys, the  results are transmitted to the Commission, which will make a  decision. Judging by the discussions in the relevant group, a  significant number of participants are against the installation of a  monument in the territory of the "Zaryadye" park. Analyzing their  statements, the motive of the reluctance of the installation is the  national identity of the great chansonnier", Aghasi Arabyan said.
