Expert: Armenia is least interested in the USA in the South Caucasus  region

ArmInfo. Washington in no  way interferes in the affairs of Armenia, and, in general, it is  rather passive in its attitude to politics in the South Caucasus  region. Political analyst Suren Sargsyan stated this at a press  conference, referring to the rumors circulating that Washington  recently began to interfere in Armenian politics.

According to him, Armenia is the least interested in the United  States in the region. "The United States does not conduct an active  policy in Armenia at all, which would interfere with relations  between the RA and the Russian Federation," Sargsyan said.

To note, the statements regarding Washington's intervention in the  affairs of Armenia appeared after the visit to the RA of Trump's  adviser on national security issues, John Bolton. During the visit,  Bolton made several statements regarding the "need for Armenia to  revise historical stereotypes," "revitalizing the Karabakh process  after the elections," etc.

The other day, Russian Foreign Minister Georgy Karasin stated that  Washington's intervention in Armenia's internal and foreign affairs  is becoming more and more unceremonious. He noted that the adviser to  the US president on national security issues, John Bolton, commenting  on the conflict around Nagorno-Karabakh, noted that the American  "weapon is in any case better than the Russian one." Karasin said  that Bolton ordered Armenia to buy American weapons and join  anti-Iran sanctions as soon as possible. "Moscow hopes that the new  leadership of Armenia will find the strength to resist the  blackmailing of the United States and will make its own decisions,"  Karasin concluded.
