Zaynetdinov:Issue of CSTO Secretary General candidacy has not yet  been agreed

ArmInfo.The procedure for agreeing on the candidacy for the post of Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization from Belarus Stanislav Zas  was organized through his personal meetings with each head of the  CSTO member state. A spokesman for the organization, Vladimir  Zainetdinov, stated this reports Interfax.by.

"As of December 24, 2018, the approval procedure for appointing  Stanislav Vasilyevich Zas as Secretary General of the CSTO continues.  Signing the decision is organized individually," Zainetdinov said.   Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Belarus and Russia, where Zas's candidacy was  "supported by the heads of state who met him." "The meeting with the  acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has been postponed  to a later date," said Zainetdinov.

To recall, Yerevan insists that the new CSTO Secretary General until  2020 should be the representative of Armenia. Last Friday, it became  known that Alexander Lukashenko signed a draft decision of the  Collective Security Council of the CSTO on the appointment of the  Secretary of State of the Security Council of the country Stanislav  Zas as the general secretary of the organization. The President of  Tajikistan, Emomali Rakhmon, signed a similar decision.
