Israeli political scientist: Our relations with Armenia should  develop regardless of relations with Iran and Azerbaijan

ArmInfo. Israel's relations  with Armenia should develop regardless of Armenia's relations with  Iran and Israel's relations with Azerbaijan. Israeli political analyst, co- chairman of the international public forum  Alexander Tsinker, expressed this opinion to  ArmInfo.

"Today, our relations are still in pause mode, which is primarily due  to the recent domestic political events in our countries. Of course,  our countries have them. And in my opinion, we need to start  implementing it from the economy, which is then inevitably projected  onto the level of Armenia-Israel political relations, "he stressed.

The Israeli political scientist is convinced that the relations  between Armenia and Israel should not rest on the problems that exist  between Yerevan and Jerusalem. According to his estimates, it is  wrong to wait for the resolution of these problems and only then  proceed to the matter. Cooperation should be developed regardless of  the political climate. Especially, given the presence of interest in  this cooperation in both countries.

As Israel's first Ambassador to Armenia, a member of the  Armenia-Israel public forum, a professor at the Hebrew University in  Jerusalem Baruch Ben-Neria, told ArmInfo, over the past 26 years,  relations between Armenia and Israel have not reached the level to  which Jerusalem and Yerevan are striving today.  However, according  to his estimates, recently there has been a favorable atmosphere for  expanding cooperation and rapprochement between the two countries.

Israel became a significant geopolitical player in the South Caucasus  in the early 1990s. of the last century, establishing and starting to  develop relations at various levels of intensity with Azerbaijan,  Armenia and Georgia. However, relations with Armenia gradually began  to improve only in 2012 after the visit of the Minister of  Agriculture of Israel Orit Noked to Yerevan. After the Armenia-Israel  inter-parliamentary friendship group was led by Knesset Deputy  Speaker Tali Ploskov, inter-parliamentary relations became more  active.
