Andranik Kocharyan demanded from Yuri Khachaturov to answer questions  about the April War by June 4

ArmInfo.Andranik Kocharian, the head of the parliament's committee to investigate the events of the April war, called on the former CSTO Secretary General Yuri  Khachaturov to answer questions about the events of 2016 by June 4.  This demand was voiced on May 29 at a meeting with reporters, after a  meeting of the Committee with the participation of former Foreign  Minister Edward Nalbandyan. To recall,  Yuri Khachaturov in 2016 was  the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia.

Nalbandyan is currently in Russia, so he answered the lawmakers'  questions in online conference format.  Kocharyan did not disclose  the details of the information received, noting that it was submitted  by Nalbandyan <in diplomatic form>. However, in all likelihood, it  turned out to be a sufficient basis for directly demanding that  Khachaturov also give clarifications regarding the April war.  Otherwise, as Kocharyan emphasized, the Committee will draw up its  opinion without taking into account his opinion, and then other  competent bodies will deal with these issues. He also expressed  bewilderment at the fact that Khachaturov was the only one who  continues to ignore the work of the Committee and its invitation to  attend meetings. As noted, the Committee until June 4 is ready to  organize a meeting with Khachaturov in any format convenient for him.

Speaking about the preliminary results of the work of the Committee,  Kocharyan informed that he managed to clarify the answers to many  questions. Videotapes made during meetings exceed 100 hours in  duration; In addition, thousands of documents were examined.

To note, the parliamentary committee to investigate the circumstances  of the April war in Karabakh was established on May 31, 2019. The  Committee included representatives of all factions of the National  Assembly. The purpose of its work is to identify possible errors,  shortcomings or inaction on the part of the then authorities during  the aforementioned period of aggravation of the situation at the  border, which led to the death of more than 100 Armenian troops. The  committee was visited by the third president of Armenia Serzh  Sargsyan, former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, the current head of  the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Artak Davtyan.
