On the occasion of Bastille Day, the French Embassy in Armenia  treated the medical staff of Yerevan hospitals with French dishes

ArmInfo.On the occasion of the national holiday of France, this morning the French Embassy in Armenia handed out French cuisine prepared by the chef of the diplomatic mission to the medical staff of Yerevan hospitals. On the occasion of the national holiday of France, the ambassador of  France to Armenia, Jonathan Lacote, also made a video message.

The appeal, in particular, said: "I am glad to meet all of you today  on July 14, the day of the French national holiday. The health  situation in Armenia in connection with the coronavirus pandemic did  not allow us to meet in the garden this year, as in previous years  embassies.

Despite the current difficult situation, we wished to celebrate July  14, above all by paying tribute to those mobilized to counter the  pandemic. In this regard, this morning, the French Embassy handed out  French cuisine prepared by our chef to the medical staff of the  Yerevan hospitals. With this modest gesture, we wanted to express our  solidarity with those who have been fighting the infection for months  and to whom we are grateful for the healing of many of our  compatriots. At the same time, Lacote added that in the context of the ongoing  epidemic, he was naturally concerned about the fate of compatriots  who were going through trials such as self-isolation and the economic  crisis, had difficulty returning to France or the opportunity to come  to visit their relatives in Armenia.

At the same time, the ambassador emphasized his willingness to help  compatriots on any issue and recalled that the embassy did not close  during the pandemic and continued to provide public services.

"During this period, all the institutions of France were mobilized,  first of all, the French University, which this year has a record  high on the applications of applicants. An educational institution  named after Anatole France, which continued distance learning and  whose efforts were compensated because the Armenian government  provided the institution with a new building "In this regard, I would  like to express special gratitude to the Armenian authorities for  this major contribution to our bilateral relations," said Lacote,  adding that close contacts are also maintained with French  enterprises in Armenia, which bear the consequences of the crisis and  which are assisted in resuming their activities.

The Ambassador of France also informed about the maintenance of close  contacts with the Armenian partners, who maintain bilateral contacts  in the Parliament of Armenia, the Government, and the City Hall of  Yerevan. In this context, he expressed special gratitude to  representatives of the spheres of culture, art, education, science,  civil society for their special contribution to strengthening  cooperation.
