Tumo Center for Creative Technologies to build a mobile educational  center in the border town of Berd, Tavush region of Armenia

ArmInfo.Center for Creative Technologies Tumo will be built in the border town of Berd Tavush regions of Armenia mobile educational center. The government of the  country at a meeting on July 30 satisfied the appeal educational  foundation "Simonyan" on the provision of free use of the  corresponding areas in the Tavush region republics.

According to the Minister of Territorial Administration and  Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan, 270 km of  land will be transferred to the fund, which is on the balance sheet  of the high school of the city of Berd. A mobile educational center  equipped with modern technology will be built on this site.

In turn, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik  Harutyunyan noted that this center will be able to host retraining of  teachers of regional schools. With a positive effect, this experience  will be extended to other regions of the country.

Pointing to the importance of Tumo's entry into the border region, RA  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that the educational component  occupies an important place in almost all government strategies. He  noted that the development of border regions is one of the most  important priorities of the country's authorities.

Note that the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies> was originally  conceived as an after-school education center for teenagers.

The center was founded by an American entrepreneur of Armenian origin  Sam Simonyan and Silva Simonyan. The construction of the center in  Yerevan began in 2003 and ended in 2009-2010. The grand opening of  the <Tumo> center took place on August 14, 2011. <Tumo>'s CEO is  Marie Lou Papazian, who developed its educational program and  spearheaded the design and construction efforts of the center's first  facility in Yerevan. Before heading Tumo, Papazyan headed the  Education for Development Foundation, which brought together Armenian  and Diaspora students through online educational programs. During the  first 5 years of the center's existence, more than 10 thousand people  were trained there. In 2016, the center for creative technologies  <Tumo> was in the first place in the rating of innovative schools in  the world, compiled by the French magazine <We demain>.
