


ArmInfo.The Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan, within the framework of his working visit to Syunik, met with the governor of the region, Hunan Poghosyan. According to the press service of the ministry, during the meeting, the parties discussed the development opportunities for existing high-tech companies in Syunik.
According to the report, Arshakyan and Poghosyan also discussed the ongoing work on the development of engineering education in the region, the possibility of creating the Center for Creative Technologies (CCT) "TUMO" in Syunik, noted the need to establish a technopark, taking into account the engineering potential of the region.
Note that the center for creative technologies "TUMO" was originally conceived as a center for out-of- school education for teenagers. The founder of the Center is American businessman of Armenian origin Sam Simonyan and Silva Simonyan. The construction of the center in Yerevan began in 2003 and ended in 2009-2010. The ceremonial opening of the center took place on August 14, 2011. During the first 5 years of its existence, more than 10 thousand people were trained at the Center. In 2016, the Center for Creative Technologies ranked first in the ranking of innovative schools in the world, compiled by a French magazine.
