Premier: We expect the international community to apply the  "secession for the sake of salvation" formula in relation to  Nagorno-Karabakh

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in the  Global Leadership Series program of the Indian WION TV company.   According to him, the problem is that today not only Azerbaijan is  involved in the war against Nagorno- Karabakh, but also Turkey and  the terrorist mercenaries transferred by Turkey from Syria to the war  zone. There is information that militants from Pakistan also take  part in the war against Karabakh. And, probably, the multi-layered  nature of all this does not allow stabilizing the situation. As for  the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, in this situation they have no  choice but to defend themselves by all possible means, as long as any  diplomatic settlement of the issue becomes possible. To resolve this  issue, the Prime Minister continued, compromises are needed, and  every time Armenia expresses its readiness to compromise, that is, at  least slightly lowers the bar set by it, Azerbaijan puts forward new  requirements, new conditions. This was the case for a long time in  the negotiation process and this is the case now. "When I talk about  the absence of a diplomatic format for a settlement, I mean  Azerbaijan's destructive position, because Azerbaijan was not ready  and is not ready now to settle the Karabakh issue on the basis of a  compromise. When Azerbaijan is ready for such a position, at that  moment, I think, we will have some success. But until such a position  is accepted by Azerbaijan, it is very difficult to come to a  diplomatic solution, which does not mean that we stop working in this  direction, "the head of the Armenian government said.  He stressed  that it was Azerbaijan that started the war. The fact that today  armed terrorists are fighting on the side of Azerbaijan is also a  fact. "I do not know of a single case where armed terrorists were  involved anywhere for a ceasefire. And thirdly, each time Turkey  reaches an agreement on a ceasefire, it publicly declares that, in  its opinion, Azerbaijan should not cease hostilities. Having built  this logical chain, it is very easy to find out who does not comply  with the ceasefire regime, "Nikol Pashinyan said, adding that all  information on this issue was transferred to international partners.  There were also publications in the international media proving that  terrorists and mercenaries from Syria are taking part in the Karabakh  war. , the prime minister said -minister.   At the same time, he did not agree with the point of view that  Armenia found itself in the arena of an indirect, proxy war between  Turkey and Russia. "No, I cannot say that, since Russia is not  involved in the war, and Russia acts as a co-chairing country of the  OSCE Minsk Group. The OSCE Minsk Group is the only internationally  recognized format within which the Karabakh issue should be discussed  and resolved.  Russia, yes, is a strategic partner of Armenia, but it  does not participate in the war. She, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk  Group, actively participates as a mediator for the settlement of the  Karabakh problem, establishing peace and stability in the region. I  think that the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group should unite efforts  to resolve the issue and not come up with separate initiatives. And I  think that in this situation it would be right if the co-chairing  countries of the OSCE Minsk Group - The United States and France,  supported the peacekeeping efforts of Russia, and did not try to come  up with separate peace initiatives. Moreover, Russia, being close and  present in the region, has more active levers of influence on the  situation, "Nikol Pashinyan noted.  Answering the question about the  statement of the head of the Armenian government that Nagorno-  Karabakh is Armenia, period, the Prime Minister of the Republic of  Armenia urged to first get acquainted with the history of the  Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which arose during the era of  democratization of the Soviet Union in 1988, when Mikhail Gorbachev  began the process of perestroika in the Soviet Union. "And the  Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, who have always constituted 80 and  more percent of the population of this region, decided to take the  opportunity to restore their violated rights. What right has been  violated? The fact is that Nagorno-Karabakh, where more than 80  percent of the population were Armenians, during the formation of the  Soviet Union, as a result of Stalin's arbitrary decision, became part  of Soviet Azerbaijan, not Soviet Armenia. And in 1988, the Armenians  of Nagorno-Karabakh began a peace process, as a result of which the  parliament of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region made a decision  to reunite with Armenia.  The Armenian people consider this a  historic decision, because the Armenian parliament also made a  similar decision. As far as the international community is concerned,  I believe that the international community must state the facts. The  most important fact is that today Nagorno-Karabakh is in a state of  war, including against international terrorists. In this sense,  Nagorno-Karabakh is at the front of civilization in the fight against  international terrorism. And I think that the international  community, yes, should use the formula of "remedial secession" in  this situation, "Nikol Pashinyan said.  He added that he expects  India and the international community to react to Ankara's actions.  According to him, Turkey has organized the transfer terrorists and  mercenaries to Azerbaijan, and without Turkey this war would not have  started.
