Aliyev: We are against the participation of third countries in the  conflict

ArmInfo. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called on third countries to abandon any form of involvement in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.  "We are against the  participation of third countries in the conflict.

Nothing like that is recorded. All neighboring countries are our partners and friends,"  Aliyev said in an interview with the German ARD TV channel. At the  same time, the Azerbaijani leader for some reason forgot to say that  from the very beginning of the military aggression he used the help  of his "big brother" - Turkey, and the latter involved mercenaries  from the Middle East against the peaceful population of Artsakh.

At the same time, he once again cynically stated that in the  negotiation process Azerbaijan has always stood for a peaceful  settlement of the conflict, which presupposes "a phased withdrawal of  Armenian units."

"However, Yerevan opposed the implementation of the initiatives. This  can be confirmed by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. According to the  basic principles of the settlement, Azerbaijan was supposed to regain  control over five regions around Nagorno-Karabakh, and then two  more," Aliyev said once again trying to falsify history, assuring  that they the Armenians have never lived in these territories.

In conclusion, Aliyev assured that the strategy of the Armenian  leadership at the negotiating table was "calculated to drag out the  dialogue to infinity."

Today, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan appealed to Russian  President Vladimir Putin with a request to hold immediate  consultations in order to determine the type and amount of assistance  that the Russian Federation can provide to the Republic of Armenia to  ensure its security, based on the allied relations between Armenia  and Russia and Article 2 <Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and  Mutual Assistance> dated August 29, 1997.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reacted to this appeal of Armenia,  stressing that Russia will fulfill its obligations under the  agreement as soon as the clashes spread to the territory of Armenia.
