From now on, RA citizens have to obtain transit visa to transit  through Polish airports outside Schengen zone

ArmInfo.From now on, citizens of Armenia must obtain a transit visa when traveling outside the Schengen zone on a transit flight through Polish airports. The  relevant message was published on the website of the Polish  government on August 11.

According to the source, the message of the Polish government reads,  in part:

" We kindly inform you that pursuant to Article 3 (2) of Regulation  (EC) No. 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13  July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas (Visa Code), the  citizens of the Republic of Armenia must apply for airport transit  visa to transit through Poland airports while traveling out of  Schengen area starting from August 1st, 2022. The airport transit  visa allows the citizens of the Republic of Armenia to stay in the  international transit zone without the possibility of leaving it. The  consular fee for issuing a visa is EUR 80.00. The following  categories of persons shall be exempt from the requirement to hold an  airport transit visa: a) holders of a valid uniform visa, national  long-stay visa or residence permit issued by a Member State; b)  third-country nationals holding a valid residence permit issued by a  Member State which does not take part in the adoption of this  Regulation or by a Member State which does not yet apply the  provisions of the Schengen acquis in full, or third-country nationals  holding one of the valid residence permits listed in Annex V issued  by Andorra, Canada, Japan, San Marino or the United States of America  guaranteeing the holder's unconditional readmission, or holding a  valid residence permit for one or more of the overseas countries and  territories of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Aruba, Curacao, Sint  Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba); c) third-country  nationals holding a valid visa for a Member State which does not take  part in the adoption of this Regulation, or for a Member State which  does not yet apply the provisions of the Schengen acquis in full, or  for Canada, Japan or the United States of America, or holders of a  valid visa for one or more of the overseas countries and territories  of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Aruba, Curacao, Sint Maarten,  Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba), when travelling to the issuing  country or to any other third country, or when, having used the visa,  returning from the issuing country; d) family members of citizens of  the Union as referred to in Article 1(2)(a); e) holders of diplomatic  passports; f) flight crew members who are nationals of a contracting  Party to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation ." 

Earlier, the Armenian Embassy in Romania also informed about the need  to obtain transit visas. "From August 1, citizens of the Republic of  Armenia transiting through Polish airports to countries outside the  Schengen zone (including Romania) must apply for a transit airport  visa for Poland," the Armenian diplomatic mission said in a  statement.

It is noteworthy that previously the citizens of Armenia freely  crossed the air borders of Poland without obtaining transit visas. It  is also worth noting that the EU countries, in accordance with the  Charter of the Organization, can independently introduce this kind of  regulation.
