Security Council Secretary of Armenia presents to Swedish officials  details of blocking only road linking Nagorno-Karabakh with outside  world

Within the framework of his working visit to Sweden, Secretary of the RA  Security Council Armen Grigoryan met with Minister of Foreign Affairs  of this country, Tobias Billstrom and  Chairman of the Foreign  Relations Committee of the Riksdag,  Aron Emilsson, as well as  members of the committee.

According to the press service of the RA Security Council, Grigoryan  briefed his interlocutors on the closure of the Berdzor (Lachin)  corridor by Azerbaijan - the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh  with Armenia, and the humanitarian crisis caused by this.

In this context, the Secretary of State stressed the importance of an  adequate response from the international community.

Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom stressed Sweden's readiness not  only to contribute to the establishment of stability in the region,  but also to overcome the conflict both within the framework of the  OSCE and with the support of the European Union.

On December 12 at 10:30 am, a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian  clothes blocked the Stepanakert-Goris highway, again "for  environmental reasons." Armenian telegram channels have already  identified employees of the special services of Azerbaijan among the  so-called ecologists. The Azerbaijanis are behaving loosely, trying  to provoke Russian peacekeepers, and have set up a tent on the only  road linking Artsakh with Armenia. The road remains closed to this  day. The so-called Azerbaijani environmentalists, who were lit up in  the photo with a demonstration of the symbol of Turkish "Gray Wolves"  ultranationalists, said that they would remain on the road until the  head of the peacekeeping contingent, Andrei Volkov, arrived. In  addition, from the evening of December 13, Azerbaijan also shut off  the valve of the gas pipeline through which gas is supplied to the  population of Nagorno-Karabakh. However, as it became known this  morning, the gas supply has been restored.

According to some media reports, the road will be unblocked in the  coming hours. Experts from the EU civil mission also arrived at the  scene.
