Protesters supporting Artsakh marched from UN Yerevan office to  Russian Embassy in Armenia 

ArmInfo. Participants of the action in support of Artsakh, organized by the representatives of the  NKR operational headquarters in Armenia marched from the UN Yerevan office, to the Russian Embassy in Armenia.

Before that, the demonstrators handed over a letter to the UN Yerevan  office, in which they protested against the passivity of the  international community against the backdrop of the humanitarian  crisis unfolding in Artsakh and demanded to contribute to the opening  of the corridor.

Those present chanted "No to the blockade of Artsakh!", "We are  Artsakh!", "Open the road to life!".  Then, they marched towards the  building of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Armenia. It was  noted that this is not an anti-Russian demonstration. "The people of  Artsakh demand the realization of their right to self-determination.  The right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination is not  subject to bargaining," the demonstrators said, calling on Russia to  ensure the implementation of the provisions of the tripartite  statement of November 9, 2020 and lift the blockade of Artsakh, which  has been in a complete blockade for 7 months.

A representative of the Armenian clergy appealed for support in front  of the Russian embassy. He drew attention to the fact that the  Armenian cultural and religious heritage is being destroyed in the  territories of Artsakh, which have come under the control of  Azerbaijan, and urged to stop this process.

Since July 14, daily protests have been held on Renaissance Square in  Stepanakert demanding to open the corridor. However, the  international community is deaf to the calls of 120,000 Artsakh  residents, who have been deprived of basic means of subsistence for 7  months and are doomed to starvation.  Earlier, at the initiative of  the Union of Journalists of Armenia and the Armenian media, the  movement "Wake up, world! Prevent the Genocide in Artsakh! Stop the  blockade!" was launched, which raises a voice in defense of  compatriots in Artsakh.

UJA called on Armenian media outlets, media persons, international  and Armenia-based media organizations independent journalists,  bloggers to join the movement by spreading this statement, placing  the following banners in the media and social networks - until the  ROAD OF LIFE linking Artsakh to Armenia to be opened:

"The Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh, which has been going on for  more than six months and is now accompanied by total isolation, has  led to a dire humanitarian crisis.

The 120,000 people of Artsakh, including 30,000 children, are living  without food, baby food, medicine, petrol and diesel and natural gas  supply. They also face power outages and are at risk of starving to  death.  Every day, 120,000 citizens of Artsakh live under the blatant  threat of being physically annihilated, losing their homeland, ethnic  cleansing and being deprived of their homes and cradle.

Human destinies are under threat as the crisis aggravates the  situation day after day; people are living in conditions that pose a  real danger to their lives since they are under armed siege of the  Azerbaijanis on a daily basis, with no opportunity to receive medical  aid.

There are no practical implications of the declaratory calls of the  international community for the unblocking of Artsakh, and Azerbaijan  continues to lead its deliberate, antihuman and felonious policy of  ethnic cleansing in Artsakh without inhibition.

From this point forward, the media outlets of Armenia - on their  respective websites and on the front pages of their respective  newspapers - will be issuing an alert addressed to international  organizations, as well as to the political, academic, cultural and  religious circles of different countries and to the world in an  attempt to bring this crisis to the attention of all those who place  humans and human lives above any geopolitical interest or economic  interest.  Through this initiative, we mass media representatives are  making our move for the urgent action to save human lives.  Tomorrow  may be too late," the UJA said in a statement.
