Over 50% of Yerevan residents object mass construction and tree felling permits issued by Yerevan Municipality

ArmInfo. More than half  (53.2%) of respondents in Yerevan have a negative attitude towards  the issuance of mass permits for construction of buildings in the  city by the Yerevan Municipality and towards cutting down trees  (52.6%). This is evidenced by the results of the survey "Speak, do  not speak:", by the consulting company MPG. 

So, when asked to express their attitude towards the issuance of  construction permits, 34.6% of respondents stated that they have an  extremely negative attitude towards this, another 18.6% are rather  negative. Only 17.8% have a positive attitude towards this, another  25.1% are rather positive, and another 4% found it difficult to  answer. Regarding the cutting down of large, old trees in the city  and their replacement with decorative sakura trees, 36.8% of Yerevan  residents assessed this step by the capital's municipality  negatively, 15.8% rather negatively, 22.5% rather positively, 18.4%  called this step correct, and another 6.4% found it difficult to  answer.

A slightly different picture was shown by a survey of residents of  the center, where the felling took place.  41.4% of respondents rated  these actions of the capital's mayor's office negatively, 13.1%  called them rather wrong, 19.2% called them rather right, 21.2%  called them right, and another 5.1% of respondents found it difficult  to answer.

Respondents were also asked to rate the condition of roads and  drainage systems in Yerevan on a 5-point scale, where 5 is excellent  and 1 is bad.

The following picture emerged: respondents rated the process of  paving the capital's roads with 2.9 points, the process of repairing  potholes in the roads with 2.6 points, and the condition of the  city's drainage systems with 2.5 points.

When asked to evaluate the level of public utilities provision using  the same system, Gazprom-Armenia showed the best result. City  residents rated the level of gas services at 4.4 points, the level of  electricity provision at 3.3 points, and water supply at 3.5 points.

The respondents rated transport services at 3.7 points, the  landscaping process at 3.5 points, garbage removal at 3.4 points, and  cleanliness at 3.2 points.

The survey was conducted by telephone calls to residents of Yerevan  from July 30 to August 2 of this year, the sample size was 808  people, the sampling error was +/- 3.5%.
