Armenian Genocide denial offspring of anti-national thinking - ARF

ArmInfo. The latest statement by the person holding the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia about rethinking the fact of the Armenian  Genocide is nothing more than the destruction and humiliation under  various pretexts of the national collective rights and the  foundations of the identity of the Armenian people, as well as the  satisfaction of Turkish-Azerbaijani demands. This is stated in the  statement of the Supreme Body of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun party.

The statement emphasizes that such statements are the product of  anti-national, anti-state and anti-scientific thinking. "The  statement that questions the fact of the Armenian Genocide is in  itself an anti-civilizational act of denial, which, along with  fulfilling Turkey's preconditions, is disrespectful of the  recognition of the Armenian Genocide by more than 40 countries, and  in the case of some states, its criminalization, as well as the  universal efforts and international cooperation to prevent the crime  of genocide. This reprehensible statement belittles the political,  scientific and social heritage created by different generations of  the Armenian people, our collective struggle and sacrifices for the  international recognition of the Armenian Genocide," the ARF party  said in a statement.

Its authors emphasize that this is an insult to the memory of the  victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915, one and a half million  Armenian martyrs canonized by the Armenian Apostolic Church.

The Supreme Body of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" of Armenia confirms that  the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the restoration of the  rights of the Armenian people have no time limits. They are based on  international law and the vital requirement of restoring historical  justice. These demands stem from the strategic interests of the  Armenian people and Armenian statehood.

"Condemnation of the Genocide and elimination of its consequences are  the most serious basis for the exclusion and prevention of such  crimes against humanity. Refusal to demand international recognition  of the Armenian Genocide, enshrined in the Declaration of  Independence of the Republic of Armenia, does not neutralize the  hostile, expansionist ambitions and security threats against the  Republic of Armenia. We note that reckless service to the demands and  preconditions of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem is a hostile policy  that is a direct challenge to our national security, the existence of  our statehood and the vital interests of Armenians around the world.  We once again call on the Armenian people, both in Armenia and in the  Diaspora, to unite around national and state programs that will stop  the disintegration of our statehood," the ARF statement reads.

During a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in  Switzerland, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated the need to  reassess and comprehend the Armenian Genocide. He expressed the idea  that it is important to understand why the issue of the Armenian  Genocide appeared on Armenia's agenda, emphasizing the need for an  in-depth analysis. "We must go back to the history of the Armenian  Genocide, understand what happened, why it happened, and how we  perceived it. For example, why was the issue of the Armenian Genocide  not on the agenda in 1939, but appeared in 1950? Do we need to  understand this or not?" the head of government said. At the same  time, he never mentioned the guilt of the Ottoman Empire or Turkey's  denial policy.
