ArmInfo. Armenia needs a government that will fight for the return of Armenian prisoners of war to their homeland. This was stated by MP Anna Mkrtchyan from the opposition faction "I have honor" in a conversation with journalists in the Armenian parliament.
Mkrtchyan emphasized that the current government has not taken any steps to ensure the safe return of the military-political leadership of Artsakh and other detainees, and has failed to prevent their capture. In this regard, the MP also recalled earlier circulated photographs on the Internet indicating torture of prisoners, which, in her opinion, clearly demonstrates the current leadership's attitude towards Armenian citizens.
They are not taking any action to prevent the crimes of Azerbaijan. The oppositionist expressed disbelief in the ruling party statements that they are addressing the prisoner issue at all possible venues. The MP assured that Nikol Pashinyan is not actually discussing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, but is negotiating with Baku regarding the transfer of the remaining part of the country.
