Armenian taxpayers pay for Turkish journalists` visit to Armenia for an interview with Pashinyan

ArmInfo. Representatives of the Turkish media have arrived in Yerevan for an interview with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This initiative was organized by the Armenian side and funded by the Armenian state budget, as stated by Gor Tsarukyan, Director of the Public Relations and Information Center, in an interview with Tert.am.

According to him, representatives from 10 Turkish media outlets arrived in Armenia. Tsarukyan said.  In response to the clarifying question about the meaning of "our initiative" and how, he replied: "The initiative came from the Public Relations and Information Center. We tried to reach out the most influential media outlets by contacting their editorial offices, who then sent the relevant journalists. During the visit, the media representatives conducted interviews and engaged in discussions with the Prime Minister, several other officials, and members of the expert community."

He noted that both state and private, pro-government and opposition media outlets were invited. When asked if everyone who was invited came to Yerevan or if there were any refusals, Tsarukyan replied that everyone had arrived. "The representatives of the Turkish media came here at the expense of the Armenian state budget and will stay here for three days, leaving tomorrow," he noted. The editorial office of Tert.am has sent a written request to the Prime Minister's Office asking for clarifications on the amount of money spent from the budget to host the Turkish journalists.
