South Caucasus Railway marks World Day for Safety and Health at Work

ArmInfo.  On April 28, the South Caucasus Railway celebrated World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which in 2025 is dedicated to information technology in the field of occupational safety:

"Revolutionary approaches to occupational safety and health. The role  of artificial intelligence and digitalization in the workplace." This  was reported by the company's press service. Karine Ambartsumyan,  Head of the Department of Labor Protection, Industrial and Fire  Safety of the South Caucasus Railway, reported that the past week in  the company was declared a labor protection week. Within its  framework, the company's teams developed skills in the competent use  of PPE, and events were held aimed at improving the level of  organization of labor protection work and maintaining relevant  documentation.

"For the fourth year now, we at SCR have been celebrating a  professional holiday in a working manner - we are holding a kind of  exam in theory and practice for our occupational safety specialists.  Over the years, the company has increased both its understanding of  the criticality of compliance with occupational safety rules and the  level of training of our specialists. We plan to continue working on  improving the qualifications of our employees," Ambartsumyan noted.

A number of events were concluded with competitions among SCR  occupational safety engineers, thematic discussions and exchange of  experience in the professional sphere.

The management of SCR attaches great importance to this series of  issues, noted SCR General Director Alexey Melnikov in a conversation  with specialized specialists. "The life and health of our employees  is a priority for SCR, and ensuring safe work is within your  competence," he addressed the occupational safety engineers. "The  solution to this series of issues imposes great responsibility on you  and should be a priority for you too. By and large, everything can be  worked out, except for health and life."

The celebration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work is aimed  at drawing public attention to the issues of compliance with workers'  rights, as well as ensuring safe conditions for all workers,  regardless of their position, field of activity, salary or place of  residence. According to the ILO, more than 2 million people die and  are seriously injured as a result of accidents at work every year, so  most of the thematic events are aimed at reducing injuries among  employees.
