Team Telecom Armenia announces launch of 5G

ArmInfo. One of the leading telecommunications operators in Armenia, Team Telecom Armenia, has launched a 5G network in the Erebuni administrative district of the capital. This was announced in a congratulatory video message on the  occasion of the International Telecommunication and Information Society Day by Team Telecom Armenia CEO Hayk Yesakyan.

Recalling the long history of Armenian telecom, he noted that 112 years ago, the first telephone exchange was installed in Yerevan near Amiryan Street, with the capacity to serve only 200 subscribers. In fact, as Yesayan noted, at that time this was considered a great achievement.

About 3-4 years ago, we started re-equipping the fiber-optic network.  And from 200 subscribers today we have reached 1.5 million people who use our communication services every day, every minute and every second>, - noted the CEO of Team Telecom Armenia. At the same time, he stated that the company is obliged to develop and modernize the telecommunications network, since communication is necessary on a permanent basis for the development of all sectors, from agriculture  to science and the military industry.

Back in 2023, Hayk Yesayan, during a briefing with journalists, said that Team Telecom Armenia was the first among Armenian telecom operators to apply to the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) to obtain the 700 MHz band, which the company intends to use to make the 5G network available.
