ArmInfo. Law enforcement agencies of Armenia have solved the murder of former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vahram Khorkhoruni, committed 27 years ago.
According to the report from the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of large- scale investigative and procedural measures carried out by employees of the National Security Service, it was revealed that S.A., Kh.N. and A.A. on December 10, 1998, for personal gain, with the organization and complicity of S.A., committed the murder of former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vahram Khorkhoruni, illegally acquiring and storing firearms. Based on sufficient evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation, as well as evidence of the commission of a crime, a criminal case was initiated against S.A. under Article 155, Part 2, Clause 10 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (Murder committed for mercenary motives) and Article 335, Part 1 (illegal circulation of firearms, their main parts, ammunition and other materials, devices, objects). S.A. was detained.
The Investigative Committee will present an official report on the progress and results of the preliminary investigation of this criminal case. At the request of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, the agency is currently investigating other known high-profile murder cases.
