ArmInfo. In the near future, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will visit the Russian Federation. As reported by TASS, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk told journalists on August 15. "Nikol Vovaevich was in Russia two weeks ago. We also expect him in Russia in the near future," he said.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister also said that he would travel to Yerevan next week to discuss Armenia's work in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). "Next week, I am flying to Yerevan. The trip itself was planned in advance, it is connected with the fact that a normative legal act, a decree of the Armenian government, has appeared in the legal framework of the Republic of Armenia, which, in our opinion, contradicts the law of the Eurasian Economic Union," Overchuk said.
According to him, this issue will be discussed during the upcoming visit. "Afterwards, a meeting took place in Washington, and a declaration was signed. Therefore, it is also expected that there will possibly be a meeting with [Armenian Prime Minister] Nikol Vovaevich Pashinyan, where we will discuss certain nuances that are primarily related to unblocking communications in the South Caucasus region," he added.
The Deputy Prime Minister explained that Russia is interested in issues related to its interests in the South Caucasus, including the development of rail communications.
