
ArmInfo. This year, the already traditional Yerevan Book Fest (YBF) has begun cooperation with the Saroyan Foundation. As part of this cooperation, a short story competition named after the great Armenian-American writer William Saroyan has been announced.
As reported by the press service of the festival organizers, applications have already been received from authors from more than 20 countries, including Ukraine, Kazakhstan, the USA, Russia, Malta, Israel, Germany, etc.
This year, Yerevan Book Fest will be held from September 5 to 7 and will bring together over 200 writers, 50 publishing houses, and many readers and literary critics. The festival will take place at Republic Square, the National Art Gallery, and the History Museum.
Traditionally, the Book Festival program includes presentations, master classes, panel discussions, literary competitions, and award ceremonies in the nominations of "Prose", "Poetry", "Drama", and "Children's and Youth Literature".
As YBF Director Ani Ghazaryan said, this year a visit by international publishing houses from different countries is also expected. As part of the festival program, they will hold meetings with Armenian writers, following which they undertake to select an Armenian author whose work they will publish in the language of their country.
The Yerevan Book Festival is the largest program in the field of literature and book publishing in Armenia. It has been implemented since 2017.
