Armenia, Iran consider potential of bilateral cultural cooperation 

ArmInfo. During her visit to Iran, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MECS) of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan discussed with the Minister of Culture  and Islamic Orientation of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Salehi  the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the  cultural sphere.

As reported by the press service of the MESCS of Armenia, in  particular, the parties considered the possibility of holding Culture  Days in both countries, as well as continuing the cooperation  established between the Golden Apricot and Fajr film festivals. In  this regard, the parties touched upon the screening of a film by  famous film director Sergei Parajanov in Iran.

The Armenian side proposed expanding joint programs, including joint  production of films and their translation. In this regard, Andreasyan  presented legislative changes in the film industry in Armenia, in  particular, the possibility of a partial return on investment of up  to 40% in the case of joint film production, which can provide an  opportunity for the development of mutual cooperation.

The head of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Minister of  Culture of Iran also emphasized the importance of cooperation in the  field of written heritage and literature, in connection with which  the parties noted the effective cooperation between the Matenadaran  and the Center for the Study of Written Heritage of the Islamic  Republic of Iran.

Particular attention was paid to the mutual dissemination of  literature. In this regard, Andreasyan reported that the National  Library of Armenia has a collection of Iranian literature samples,  and that translations of Iranian classical and modern works are also  carried out in Armenia.

During the meeting, Andreasyan also emphasized the importance of the  concert on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the National  Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, which took place on September 6 in  the territory of the Iranian Persepolis complex. It was noted that it  became a symbolic event of cultural friendship between Armenia and  Iran.

At the end of the meeting Zhanna Andreasyan invited Abbas Salehi to  Armenia to continue the constructive dialogue and promote cultural  cooperation between the countries.
