
ArmInfo. On September 17, in The Hague, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with President of the International Criminal Court Tomoko Akane and the Court's Registrar Osvaldo Zavala Giler.
The interlocutors exchanged views on cooperation between Armenia and the ICC, as well as on engagement in international efforts aimed at upholding international law and ensuring the rule of law.
During the meeting the ongoing work to improve national legislation in accordance with the provisions of the Rome Statute, as well as the existing opportunities for capacity building were also touched upon.

During a meeting with the Executive Director of the ICC Victim Assistance Fund, the Armenian Foreign Minister discussed cooperation between the Republic and the Fund.
Mirzoyan expressed his fundamental support for the Fund's activities, expressing his readiness to contribute to its ongoing programs.
Deborah Verduzco presented the Fund's scope of activities, its programs, and its support mechanisms.
"While the ICC investigates and prosecutes cases of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and crimes of aggression, the Victim Assistance Fund is designed to address the harm caused by crimes under the ICC's jurisdiction. The Fund, in particular, promotes the rights of victims and their families by providing compensation and assistance. The Fund works with victims, implementing vital programs related to mental health, physical rehabilitation, and material support," the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
