


ArmInfo. Volodya Grigoryan, the opposition head of the enlarged Parakar community in the Armavir region, was killed near his home at night.
As Narek Sargsyan, press secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs, told reporters, on September 23 at 11:52 PM, the police received a call reporting shots fired on the Yerevan Highway in the Merdzavan village of the Armavir region. According to him, there were two fatalities and one injured.
"One of the deceased was Volodya Grigoryan, the opposition head of the Parakar community. The second vistim was Karen Abrahamyan, a criminal police officer from the Ararat Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs," Sargsyan noted. According to him, the police officer was on vacation. He was a friend of Volodya Grigoryan, present at the time of the murder. He also noted that doctors are currently performing surgery on the third victim, who is in critical condition.
An Interior Ministry spokesperson reported that necessary investigative procedures are underway at the crime scene, and additional information will be provided.
As a reminder, Volodya Grigoryan had won the elections to the enlarged community in April of this year, securing 55% of the vote.
