"The Head of the Armavir Regional Criminal Police Department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Artur Bdoyan, has been dismissed," Interior Ministry Press Secretary Narek Sargsyan told ArmInfo.
Hrachya Ghazaryan, Head of the Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, has also been dismissed from his position based on his own resignation. The decree was signed by Artur Poghosyan, Head of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. The document was published on the website of the Investigative Committee of Armenia and is dated September 25.
Note that the dismissals followed the murder of Volodya Grigoryan, the opposition head of the enlarged Parakar community in the Armavir region, and Karen Abrahamyan, a criminal police officer with the Ararat Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the village of Merdzavan in the Armavir region.
Furthermore, MediaHub reports, citing its sources, that a suspect in the murder of the Parakar community head has already been identified. The suspect is reportedly the brother of Grigor Ohanyan, a cousin of former community mayor Mher Akhtoyan, who was killed in a conflict in February of this year. Volodya Grigoryan's brother, Paykar Grigoryan, was arrested as a suspect at that time and is currently under house arrest.
