ArmInfo. At the UNGA80 Fourth Committee general debate under agenda item "Assistance in Mine Action" the Delegation of Armenia emphasized humanitarian nature of mine action and Armenia's steadfast commitment to the humanitarian norms and principles in this regard, as was reported by the Permanent Mission of Armenia to the UN.
"Attaching great importance to the assistance in mine action and reaffirming practical dedication to international efforts aimed at addressing the drastic humanitarian consequences of anti-personnel mines, unexploded ordnances and other explosive remnants of war, the Republic of Armenia has consistently undertaken considerable efforts in its national capacity to contribute to this goal in conflict-affected areas in an inclusive manner.
Armenia's steadfast commitment to the humanitarian principles has been manifested through its participation in the humanitarian mission in Aleppo, Syria, from 2019 to 2024, where the Armenian specialists shouldered international endeavors for the mine detection and mine clearance. The need for genuine, depoliticized collaboration to prevent further human suffering and to ensure the safety has been underscored," the Delegation of Armenia emphasized.
