ArmInfo. The Corruption Prevention Commission has initiated proceedings against the Armenian Ombudsperson, Anahit Manasyan, for allegedly violating the rules of conduct, the Zhoghovurd newspaper reports.
According to the source, the newspaper has sent a request to the Commission to clarify whether proceedings have been initiated against Manasyan, the basis for the complaint, who filed it, the reason for its consideration, and when the review of the complaint will be completed.
"Based on a citizen's complaint, the Commission, by its decision of September 30, 2025, initiated a criminal case against the Human Rights Defender for an apparent violation of the rules of conduct. The case is currently under review. Additionally, given the confidential and sensitive nature of the information involved, which concerns the personal lives of individuals, and in order to protect the privacy of a person's personal and family life, and guided by paragraph 2 of Part 1 of Article 8 of the Law on Freedom of Information, the Commission cannot provide any further details about the case or the identity of the applicant at this stage of the proceedings," the response to the Zhogovurd newspaper's request states.
The Commission also urged the newspaper to refrain from publishing materials on these cases, if possible, until their completion. The maximum time limit for reviewing the case, as established by law, is December 29, 2025.
