"Imnemnimi" podcast hosts remanded in custody for two months -  lawyers

ArmInfo.  The founders and hosts of the "Imnemnimi" podcast, Vazgen Saghatelyan and Narek Samsonyan, have been remanded in custody for two months by a court decision. Lawyer Arsen Babayan announced Vazgen Saghatelyan's arrest on his Facebook page.

He reported that Judge Roman Smbatyan granted the investigator's  motion, remanding Saghatelyan in custody for two months. Babayan  noted that the court's decision will be appealed to the Court of  Appeals in accordance with established procedure.

Lawyer Ruben Melikyan, meanwhile, reported that Judge Masis Melkonyan  sentenced Narek Samsonyan to two months in prison in Armavir.

"Nothing unexpected happened. Judge Melkonyan sentenced Samsonyan to  two months in Armavir prison," Melikyan noted.

The lawyer also reported that they have been unable to contact  Ishkhan Khosrovyan, an employee of the Antifake news agency, since  this morning. Melikyan suggested that he, too, was detained as part  of the crackdown aimed at shutting down the media outlet.

As a reminder, Vazgen Saghatelyan and Narek Samsonyan were detained  on November 13 in Yerevan.  They are accused of hooliganism.  According to Ruben Melikyan, the bloggers were detained after  searches of their homes. The lawyer also reported that the statement  against the bloggers was filed by Alen Simonyan, the speaker of the  Armenian Parliament. Moreover, yesterday it was reported that the  AntiFake.am office was searched, and all equipment was seized. David  Fidanyan, a journalist for the portal, was also detained for 72 hours  on suspicion of "obstructing justice."
