


ArmInfo. Malaysian Ambassador Dato' Loon-Lai Chong presented his credentials to RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
According to the presidential press service, Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated the ambassador and noted that relations between Armenia and Malaysia are friendly and have great potential for development. "We attach great importance to relations with Malaysia. I hope that with your appointment, our bilateral cooperation will further intensify," President Khachaturyan said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of relations between the two countries and opportunities for their development. They discussed ways to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly high technology, information technology, and other fields. The parties also emphasized the importance of expanding tourism and cultural cooperation, viewing these areas as foundations for rapprochement and strengthening mutual understanding between peoples.
The topic of intensifying high-level political contacts between the two countries was discussed, which will facilitate closer cooperation in various areas.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on hosting the UN Conference on Biodiversity (COP-17) in Armenia in 2026.
During the conversation, the importance of developing cooperation on international platforms and in various formats was emphasized.
