


ArmInfo. During the 25th session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, Armenia was elected to the World Heritage Committee for the first time.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Armenia demonstrated the highest result in the election for the vacant seats, receiving 105 votes out of a possible 161, demonstrating the high level of trust the international community places in Armenia in the field of cultural heritage preservation.
By accepting membership in the World Heritage Committee, Armenia reaffirmed its commitment to contributing to international efforts aimed at protecting, preserving, and restoring cultural and natural heritage, as well as promoting the fundamental principles of the World Heritage Convention.
