ArmInfo. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was used to constantly trap the Republic of Armenia and, to some extent, Azerbaijan, as stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during government hour in the National Assembly on December 3, in response to a question from Tsovinar Vardanyan, a member of parliament from the ruling Civil Contract faction. According to the Prime Minister, the entire negotiation process surrounding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, as well as an analysis of the published package of documents, indicates that the conflict resolution was never the main focus.
"The intention was never to resolve the problem. Everything was done to ensure that Armenia had no chance of achieving true statehood, no matter how difficult it is to admit, especially when it concerns our entire generation," the Prime Minister said. He also pointed out that it is impossible to move forward without acknowledging the reality. This issue was holding back the development of not only Armenia but the entire region. All talks, including those in a patriotic spirit, centered around returning the country to its former trap.
In this context, the head of state noted that the agreements reached in Washington on August 8 have truly brought peace to every citizen and nation.
