ArmInfo. An official of the Armenian Cadastre Committee committed official forgery through various fraudulent schemes, while also asking for a bribe "for the job," the Anti-Corruption Committee reports.
Specifically, he used his official authority to enter data into cadastral maps of land plots belonging to an LLC and the community that did not correspond to the actual coordinates, altering their locations by adjusting the land plot maps and creating grounds for changing the designation of the land plots as "inappropriate use." He also legalized illegal mining operations already underway on community-owned land plots, with the assistance of another individual, in 2025, when he offered one of the company's shareholders a large bribe of between 500,000 and 700,000 drams.
Furthermore, the same official offered him a large bribe of 600,000-700,000 drams in 2025 in exchange for registering cadastral documents for real estate owned by a resident of the Gegharkunik region and built without a construction permit, as well as for not issuing a negative assessment on it.
The preliminary investigation also revealed that in 2025, the aforementioned official, through his assistant, offered him a bribe of $100 to a landowner in exchange for registering the ownership of a land plot and a building owned by another resident of the Gegharkunik region.
The official of the RA Cadastral Committee has been charged under Article 435, Part 2, Clauses 2 and 3 (two counts) and Article 435, Part 2, Clause 3 of Article 435 of the RA Criminal Code.
Five more individuals have also been charged with bribing a Cadastre Committee employee, assisting in his criminal activities, and acting as an intermediary in the bribery.
The preliminary investigation into the criminal case has been completed, and the case materials have been sent to the supervising prosecutor, along with the indictment and a motion to confirm it and forward it to court.
