Former ENA director accuses interim  manager of presenting false  outage data

ArmInfo.  During a press conference on January 9, David Ghazinyan, former general director of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC,  publicly challenged  the accuracy  of data provided by the company's current interim manager Romanos  Petrosyan,  regarding New Year's power outages. 

According to him, the figures Petrosyan cited on his social media  page are inaccurate. Based solely on the figures available on the  Public Services Regulatory Commission's website, it can be concluded  that as of December 31, 2024, 15 outages were recorded in the  network, with 6,750 customers disconnected. By 12:00 PM the following  day, the number had been reduced to 261 customers. As of December 31,  2025, 120 power outages had already been recorded, with 117,000  subscribers disconnected from the network. By 12:00 PM the following  day, the number had risen to 13,399 subscribers. The official records  prove, as Ghazinyan noted, that the new management of ENA has  provided false information.

It should be noted that previously, Romanos Petrosyan, the interim  network manager,  reported that 32,000 people celebrated the New Year  without power in 2024, and 9,200 in 2025.

The former director also addressed recent comments made by Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who alleged that the previous ENA  management had systematically defrauded Armenian citizens.  Ghazinyan  dismissed the Prime Minister's claims as "absurd," noting that  despite frequent government talk of numerous criminal cases, there  has been a notable lack of progress or updates regarding these  investigations.

Recall, on November 17, the Public Services Regulatory Commission  (PSRC) revoked the electricity transmission license of Electric  Networks of Armenia (ENA) CJSC's. On June 18, law enforcement  agencies arrested and subsequently remanded Samvel Karapetyan, a  prominent businessman and head of the Tashir Group of Companies, in  pretrial detention on charges of calling for the overthrow of the  constitutional order. His prison sentence was later commuted to house  arrest. Karapetyan's criminal prosecution occurred  because in  defense of the Armenian Apostolic Church, he stated in an interview  that "we will intervene in our own way" if politicians fail to  fulfill their mandate. Following Karapetyan's arrest, the authorities  effectively took control of ENA from the Karapetyan family,  appointing Romanos Petrosyan, a member of the Civil Contract party,  as interim manager.
