Prisoners` state of health satisfactory - minister 

ArmInfo. The health of the prisoners transferred by the Azerbaijani side to Armenia yesterday is satisfactory, Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan told reporters at the medical center.

"Everyone will undergo examinations, and if any treatment is needed,  we will arrange it. Their condition is satisfactory, and at the  moment, there are no serious health problems," she said.

The minister personally visited one of the prisoners at the medical  center: 70-year-old Vagif Khachatryan, who was abducted in 2023 while  being evacuated in a Red Cross vehicle for emergency medical care.   Khachatryan has a chronic heart condition. She noted that he is  currently in good spirits and strong, as he is in his homeland and  looking forward to being reunited with his family. "We know he has  chronic heart problems, and we need to conduct further examinations,  after which our team of specialists will decide on his further  treatment," Avanesyan said, noting that he is currently under the  supervision of doctors.

As a reminder, yesterday, our captives - Gevorg Sujyan, David  Davtyan, Vigen Euljekchyan, and Vagif Khachatryan - were handed over  to representatives of the relevant authorities of the Republic of  Armenia by representatives of the relevant authorities of the  Republic of Azerbaijan.

Sudjyan, Davtyan, and Euljekchyan were captured in November 2020, the  day after the signing of the trilateral statement. In 2021,  Euljekchyan was sentenced to 20 years in prison on trumped-up charges  of terrorism and mercenarism. David Davtyan was kidnapped and  captured (along with his comrade, Gevorg Sujyan) on November 11,  2020, while delivering humanitarian aid along the Berdzor-Shushi  road. Gevorg Sujyan was kidnapped while delivering humanitarian aid  along the Berdzor-Shushi road and has been held captive (along with  David Davtyan) since November 11, 2020. In 2021, Sujyan and Davtyan  were sentenced to 15 years in prison on trumped-up espionage charges.

Vagif Khachatryan was kidnapped near an illegal Azerbaijani  checkpoint in the Lachin corridor while being evacuated in a Red  Cross vehicle to provide emergency medical care and has been held  captive since July 29, 2023. In 2023, Khachatryan was sentenced to 15  years in prison on trumped-up charges of "committing genocide" in the  1990s.

Earlier, Artak Beglaryan, former State Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh  and ex-ombudsman, published a list of 23 individuals whose capture  had been confirmed. Among them are six civilians, nine prisoners of  war, and eight political prisoners (representatives of Artsakh's  military-political leadership).
