On January 21, at the invitation of YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, RA Prosecutor General and member of the Yerevan State University Board of Trustees Anna Vardapetyan, along with members of the Board of Trustees, toured the university's recently opened research and educational centers and laboratories, as well as its renovated and modernly equipped classrooms.
According to the press service of the supervisory body, during the tour, the members of the YSU Board of Trustees also visited the newly established Data Processing Center, where they learned about the supercomputer's capabilities and its application in scientific research and education.
The tour began with the Institute of Physics: the members of the Board of Trustees visited the Center for Optics and Photonics, the creation of which was financed by the Higher Education and Science Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the Innovation Fund, and YSU. At the ESU Center for Semiconductor Devices and Nanotechnology, they learned about the ongoing research and the capabilities of the existing facilities.
The board members then visited the ESU Faculty of Biology, where three new research and teaching laboratories were opened with ESU funding. These laboratories were renovated and equipped with modern equipment: laboratories for assessing the diversity and biological activity of fungi and plants, histology and developmental biology, and molecular genetics. These laboratories were created to provide more effective conditions for scientific research and enhance the professional development of students.
