


ArmInfo. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Sekerinska discussed the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia during a meeting in Baku.
According to Azerbaijani media, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the interlocutors touched upon diplomatic efforts and confidence-building measures aimed to ensure sustainable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus region, the agreements reached within the framework of the Washington summit on August 8, 2025 and peace prospects.
The parties also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest, discussed the current cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and NATO within the framework of the partnership, the work carried out within the framework of partnership mechanisms, and global security issues.
The parties noted the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO and stated that the dialogue and mutual activities carried out within the existing partnership contribute positively to regional security. Cooperation opportunities between Azerbaijan and NATO in demining, cybersecurity, and other areas were reviewed.
Azerbsijan's experience in participating in NATO's peace support operations and missions, its close support for processes in Afghanistan, reforms in the defense sector, and the work done to ensure interoperability were commended. The visit of a mission consisting of permanent representatives of NATO member countries to Azerbaijan in November last year was recalled with satisfaction.
