Armenian authorities prepare new scenarios for internal splits for  pre-election period

ArmInfo.  The foundation of Armenia's governance over the past seven years has been division. The only source of energy for the current authorities is internal conflict.  Elinar Vardanyan, a member of the Alternative Projects  group and a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of  Armenia from the opposition Armenia faction, writes about this in her  article.

According to her, over the past seven years, the authorities have  constantly provoked internal conflicts, leaving society divided. Some  conflicts have proven effective, others have weakened over time,  those that failed have been put aside, but new ones have been  constantly provoked. "A new conflict is currently flaring up between  pensioners and the middle and younger generations. It is significant  that high-ranking officials are allocated millions of drams, which  has nothing to do with the effectiveness of their work and  management; they are simply handing out political bribes. On the  other hand, they say: what is the point of giving pensioners ten  thousand drams, what problem will this solve? This is a disgusting  disrespectful attitude towards approximately half a million  pensioners, I repeat, towards half a million. And these half a  million pensioners are indirectly told: you should live poorly (or  not live - that's your business). Since political bribes are  necessary to ensure political loyalty to the system, a conflict is  inadvertently provoked between pensioners living in difficult  conditions and middle-generation officials who have received a  "bribe" in the form of ten years of a pensioner's pension. People who  built the state, went through all the difficult stages and, finally,  raised generations, cannot deserve such treatment. Of course, the  authorities will try to correct themselves in the near future, but  the fact is obvious: the public "I saw and heard a sincere attitude  toward pensioners. This shouldn't remain a matter of indifference,"  the deputy noted.

She added that in 2018, the formula "old and present" was found, and  then a new formula came into circulation: "black and white." And the  flywheel began to spin. The rift permeated families. "A false  division between pro-Russian and pro-Western citizens has begun.  Using well-known schemes and established systems (political and  public figures, public organizations), people were divided into pro-  Russian and 'progressive, democratic' pro-Westerners, who were  expected to remain silent throughout this abomination. This division  is still taking root. At the same time, the division between Artsakh  and Armenians continues. This old but effective division is recalled  at the right moment, inflaming passions, and then put back on a dusty  shelf for use in difficult times. Then an ugly false division arose  between peacekeepers and supporters of war. Those who oppose  unilateral concessions, ill-conceived programs, and the neglect of  the return of prisoners are characterized as supporters of war, while  they themselves are peacekeepers, although their peace is not a war  on Azerbaijan's terms, without guarantees. This completely false  division will form the basis of their campaign in the upcoming  elections," the opposition leader said.  Elinar Vardanyan noted that  the new division and conflict were provoked between those who invaded  the church and those who fought to defend it. "The authorities have  undoubtedly prepared new themes and scenarios for internal division  during the pre-election period. All non-state forces, regardless of  their relationships and goals, must work together to counter this.  New waves of internal hostility are unacceptable. They are false and  serve only the interests of one person and a small group of people.  The interests of the state are entirely different," the NA member of  parliament concluded.
