Given the existing friendly relations between the two countries, the Greek side has expressed its willingness to provide DNA testing services to Armenia under special, mutually beneficial terms. This agreement was reached during Vahagn Khachaturyan's state visit to Greece, where discussions regarding cooperation in forensic science and DNA testing were held between the two countries' specialized agencies.
According to the press service of the Armenian president, this initiative is aimed at facilitating the exchange of experience and technological collaboration in forensic medicine.
During the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the established professional dialogue and mutual contributions to promoting cooperation. The Greek side confirmed its willingness to continue discussing next steps, as well as the formalization and practical implementation of the partnership, emphasizing its openness to further discussion of possible cooperation formats.
According to the source, the agreements are of practical and strategic importance for the activities of the Scientific and Practical Center of Forensic Medicine at the Armenian Ministry of Health. They could facilitate the expansion of international professional cooperation in DNA analysis, as well as the use of external professional and laboratory resources under more favorable conditions for complex or specialized research.
