ArmInfo. An Armenian court has changed the pretrial detention measure for Khachik Galstyan, Secretary General of the opposition Homeland party. He will be transferred from a pretrial detention facility to house arrest.
As lawyer Arsen Babayan reported on his Facebook page, Judge Sargis Dadoyan made the decision during a hearing on a motion to extend Galstyan's pretrial detention. "Galstyan will be home in two days," the lawyer wrote.
As a reminder, on December 29, 2025, searches were conducted at the home of Khachik Galstyan, Secretary General of the opposition Homeland party, after which he was detained.
By a court decision on December 30, Galstyan was remanded in custody for two months. He is accused of paying electoral bribes during the Vagharshapat Council of Elders elections, which took place on November 16. Galstyan's defense team considers the charges against their client groundless.
