Turkish "Aydinlik": Armenia submits bill to protect Islam amid  normalization efforts with Turkiye

ArmInfo. Nikol Pashinyan's government has introduced a new bill that would provide extensive new legal protections for Islam in Armenia. According to  blogger Alen Ghulyan, the Turkish publication "Aydinlik" made this sensational statement.

According to the Turkish newspaper, the legislative initiative, which  is expected to be approved in the foreseeable future, would prohibit  public criticism of Islam, disrespecting the Quran, and insulting the  Prophet Muhammad. " Under the new provisions, publicly criticizing  Islam, disrespecting the Quran, or insulting the Prophet Muhammad  will become serious crimes," the newspaper reported, as quoted by  Ghulyan.  It should be noted that there are no known attacks on the  Islamic faith in Armenia.
