Armenian premier admits resignation of AGMI director at his request 

ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan admitted that, at his request, Edita Gzoyan,  former director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI), submitted her resignation. "This was done on my instructions," he said during a briefing on March 12, answering journalists' questions.

The Prime Minister emphasized that he considered Ms. Gzoyan's gift of  a book about Artsakh to US Vice President J.D. Vance during his visit  to the Museum to be a provocative act, contrary to the Armenian  government's foreign policy.

When asked whether the government's persecution of the clergy was  motivated by the same reason, and whether the stated reasons merely  served as a way to package the position, Pashinyan noted that it was  a matter of national security.

At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that the Republic of  Artsakh was repeatedly mentioned at the liturgy he most recently  attended. "And this means a call for war. If not today, then  tomorrow, or the day after. Therefore, we say that Ktrich Nersisyan  (Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin B) and his group have led the  war party. This should not be. How can a country have six foreign  policies?" Pashinyan asked, emphasizing that in the Republic of  Armenia, foreign policy is conducted exclusively by the government,  led by him.

As a reminder, yesterday, former AGMI Director Hayk Demoyan, in a  post on his Facebook page, stated that Edita Gzoyan, Director of the  Armenian Genocide Museum- Institute, is slated for dismissal after  she spoke to US Vice President J.D. Vance about the ethnic cleansing  and genocide committed against the Artsakh population in September  2023. He suggested that the issues raised by Edita Gzoyan during  Vance's visit had apparently displeased Armenia's Minister of  Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MECS), Zhanna Andresyan,  who, according to rumors, demanded Gzoyan resign.

Demoyan reported that, according to recent news, a new director would  soon be appointed, and expressed his conviction that the new  leadership's main responsibility would be to conceal numerous crimes,  as well as to fail to respond to the unprecedented statements made by  high-ranking Armenian officials regarding the historical fact of the  Armenian Genocide.
