ArmInfo. Although the war in Iran has virtually ceased to be a focus for Armenian society and politicians, it not only continues but has reached a new level of development. Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan writes about this on his Facebook page.
"Yesterday's assassination of one of Iran's most influential figures, Ali Larijani, is clear evidence of this. And its immediate consequences are already being felt throughout the world, including in Armenia," the political scientist noted.
As an example, Varuzhan Geghamyan cited a statement by Central Bank of Armenia Chairman Martin Galstyan, who noted the previous day that escalation in the Middle East could impact inflation in Armenia by 1.2-1.7% and slow economic growth in the country. "Unfortunately, the war in Iran is being taken lightly, and its consequences and impact are being underestimated. Look at the footage from Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, this morning. And let's think again about the real problems of our region," the political scientist wrote.
