


ArmInfo. Vladimir Vardanyan, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and Chairman of the NA Committee on State and Legal Affairs, submitted his resignation on March 19. This was reported by the parliament's press service.
In accordance with Part 2 of Article 155 of the Law "Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly," if a member of parliament withdraws their resignation in writing within one week of the publication of their resignation, the NA Speaker issues a corresponding statement. If they do not withdraw their resignation, a protocol on the termination of their powers is drawn up, signed and published by the NA Speaker. The resignation is considered accepted from the moment the protocol is published.
As a reminder, RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan previously nominated Vladimir Vardanyan for the position of judge of the RA Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court consists of nine judges. They are elected by the National Assembly on the proposal of the President, the Government, and the General Assembly of Judges (three candidates from each body). The judges of the Constitutional Court elect a chairperson and a deputy chairperson from among their ranks for a six-year term.
