
ArmInfo. The regular meeting of the Anti-Corruption Policy Council was held, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Representatives of government agencies, public organizations, and invited participants took part in the meeting.
The agenda included discussions on issues regarding the application of unified approaches to addressing violations related to the declaration of assets, income, interests, and expenses. It also covered a number of issues related to preventing potential corruption risks in the electoral process.
The acting Chairperson of the Corruption Prevention Commission, Mariam Galstyan, highlighted the discrepancies in the interpretation of administrative and criminal legal aspects during proceedings related to the declaration process. In this context, the need to implement a coordinated and comparable methodology among the relevant bodies was emphasized. Specifically, it was proposed to strengthen monitoring instruments for the declaration process, including conducting a comprehensive analysis of violations to facilitate the initiation and efficient conducting of preliminary investigations.
Representatives from public organizations presented proposals to reduce corruption risks in the electoral process. Specifically, these concerned increasing the transparency of election financing, improving mechanisms for monitoring the voting process, and limiting opportunities for illegal financing.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of consistently implementing measures aimed at ensuring transparency in electoral process and full compliance with legal requirements. He instructs that the proposals presented be continued and that solutions requiring priority legislative and practical changes be presented within a short timeframe.
