ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that the Karabakh movement has sacrificed Armenia to geopolitical interests. "We realized this too late, but there are political forces that still haven't grasped it," he said during government hour in parliament on March 25, responding to a question from a fellow party member. Over time, Armenia increasingly conceded, sacrificing its sovereignty and independence, he added.
"But when we returned to the internationally recognized territory of the Republic of Armenia, we became more sovereign, more independent, and more authoritative on the international stage, hour by hour. And this is the symbol of the Republic of Armenia," Pashinyan said, holding up a mock-up of the Republic of Armenia's map from the parliamentary podium, with clearly internationally recognized borders, excluding Nagorno-Karabakh.
It's worth noting that Nikol Pashinyan travels to the regions on weekends, handing out pins depicting the map of Armenia to everyone he meets as part of his election campaign. He calls this map "Real Armenia."
