


ArmInfo. Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan attended and delivered a speech at the panel discussion titled "Mountains Without Borders: Conservation, Restoration, and Sustainable Management of Ecosystems" during the 7th Global Mountain Partnership Meeting held in Andorra.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, in his speech, Abisoghomonyan presented the steps being taken by the Armenian government, including the implementation of innovative technologies and legislative amendments to improve the country's institutional and legal framework for climate resilience.
The 17th UN Conference on Biological Diversity, scheduled to take place in Armenia this year, was mentioned along with the "Leaders' Summit" planed for the event. The conference highlighted the importance of involving all stakeholders, including the scientific community, indigenous peoples, and local communities, in the first global review of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework commitments.
The Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister pointed out that the mountains, their resilient communities, and traditional knowledge ensure the interconnectedness of measures to combat climate change, safeguard biodiversity, and restore lands.
Abisoghomonyan emphasized Armenia's commitment to collaborating with international partners to preserve mountain ecosystems.
